DESCRIPTION:Dear Sir/Madam\, \nThe Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM\, together with its partner\, the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCBP)\, invites you to attend the conference marking the presentation of the Report on Attacks on Human Rights Defenders in Serbia for 2025. The conference will take place on Wednesday\, 11 March 2026\, starting at 11:00 AM\, at Hotel Metropol (Nikola Tesla B Conference Room)\, Belgrade. The event is organized within the framework of the initiative Strengthening Human Rights Defenders to Safeguard Democracy in Serbia\, supported by UNDEF. \nBased on data collected through the Map of Incidents\, the Report on Attacks on Human Rights Defenders in Serbia for 2025 provides a comprehensive overview of cases of pressure\, threats\, and attacks\, as well as the responses of relevant institutions. Civil society organizations have received over 4\,000 testimonies from citizens of Serbia regarding the events of March 15\, 2025\, which took place in central Belgrade – spanning the area from Slavija Square to Terazije and the surrounding streets – during the fifteen minutes of silence that began at 7:00 PM. The press conference will present the actions undertaken by civil society organizations before domestic and international institutions\, aimed at protecting the human rights of persons affected by and reporting on these incidents. In addition\, an analysis of the collected testimonies will be presented\, detailing what several thousand individuals heard\, felt\, and experienced from the moment the gathering was interrupted\, as well as the health issues and consequences they have subsequently endured. \nSpeakers at the conference will include: \n\nKatarina Golubović\, Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights YUCOM\nĐorđe Krivokapić\, SHARE Foundation\nVladica Ilić\, Belgrade Centre for Human Rights\n\nThe working language of the press conference is Serbian.
